SMA: API connection
Please note that you can only link one inverter with your Niko Home Control installation, when using the API connection. If you want to link multiple inverters, you need to use the connection via measuring module(s).
What do you need?
General requirements
You have a computer with the Niko Home Control programming software version 2.17 or higher.
You have connected both systems to the same home network.
Niko requirements
Your Niko Home Control installation meets the following requirements:
It has a wireless smart hub or a connected controller II.
It is configured with the most recent programming software.
It has an active internet connection.
It is registered and you have your e-mail address and password on hand.
Depending on the installation type, you need the following connections and additional products:
In case you have a connected controller, install and connect a measuring module on bus or a wireless measuring module (the wireless bridge is strictly needed to connect a wireless measuring module).
In case you have a wireless smart hub, install and connect a wireless measuring module.
SMA requirements
Your system meets the following requirements:
You have its serial number on hand. You can find the serial number on the SMA inverter.
It has an active internet connection.
MODBUS port on the inverter is enabled by your PV installer during installation.
You will have to enter the SMA installer password during the activation procedure to enable the port.
If you don't have the SMA installer password, please contact your PV installer or fill in the form on the SMA website.

Programming of the SMA system
You can (de)activate the partner integration via the Niko Home Control programming software. Ask your professional installer for help. You will find the requirements and detailed instructions in the software manual.
You activate the link in the Dashboard menu. You find the procedure here.
You deactivate the link in the Dashboard menu. You find the procedure here.
After deactivating the link, the following happens:The related functions will disappear from your Niko Home Control app.
Your related data in Niko Home Control will be lost.
Note that any basic actions and routines linked to your partner system are also updated via the programming software.
