What can you do with Niko Home Control?

By connecting Google Home with Niko Home Control, you can:

  • Voice control the most important actions in your Niko Home Control installation (e.g. dimming the lights, switching the lights on and off, controlling the thermostat, and activating moods) with your Google Home device.

  • Connect third party systems to Niko Home Control by using Google automations:

    • With a “Google automation action”, other applications can control Niko Home Control routines and actions.

    • Use Niko Home Control as “Google automation starter” to control other applications and devices via Niko Home Control.

  • No additional electrical wiring is required.

  • You have a smartphone with an internet connection.


Your Niko Home Control installation meets the following requirements:

  • It has a wireless smart hub or a connected controller.

  • It is configured with the most recent programming software (version 2.23 or higher).

  • It has an active internet connection.

  • It is registered.

  • You have your Niko Home Control installation e-mail address and password on hand.

  • You installed the Google Home app on your smartphone and completed the activation.

  • You have your Google username and password on hand.

You can use max. 15 Niko Home Control basic actions or routines as a Google automation starter.

How do you activate the link between Niko Home Control and Google Home?

Once you have activated the Niko Home Control service in the Google Home app, you will be able to control your Niko Home Control devices using voice commands. These devices can be used as actions in Google automations.

If you also want to use Niko Home Control devices as a starter in a Google automation, you have to activate the Google Home connected service in the Niko Home Control programming software.

  1. Check if you have everything you need (see above).

  2. Activate the Niko Home Control service in the Google Home app:

    1. On your smartphone, open the Google Home app and log in with your Google account.

    2. Tap Settings.

    3. Tap +Add.

    4. Tap Service.

    5. Tap Works with Google.

    6. In the search bar, type Niko Home Control.

    7. Tap Niko Home Control.

    8. Tap Continue.

    9. Log in with your e-mail address and Niko Home Control password.

    10. Accept the terms and follow the further instructions.
      You can now control your Niko Home Control installation with your voice.

  3. (optional) If you also want to use Niko Home Control devices as a starter in a Google automation, proceed as follows:

    1. Activate the Google connected service in the Dashboard menu. Select during the activation procedure the devices, actions or routines you want to use as a starter (max. 15).

    2. Create in the Google Home app the desired Google automation.

How do you deactivate the link between Niko Home Control and Google Home?

  1. On your smartphone, open the Google Home app:

    1. Tap Settings.

    2. Tap +Add.

    3. Tap Service.

    4. Tap Works with Google.

    5. In the Linked Services list, tap Niko Home Control.

    6. Tap Unlink account.

  2. (optional) In the Niko Home Control programming software, deactivate the Google Home connected service in the Dashboard menu.
