Installation upgrade
Download the most recent version of the Niko Home Control software from the Niko website and install it on your laptop.
Temporarily switch off the virus scanner and the WiFi on your laptop, and add ‘configurator.exe’ to the list of trusted software in your firewall.
Start the Niko Home Control software.
Connect your laptop to the controller of the Niko Home Control installation using an RJ45-RJ45 patch cord.
Wait several minutes.
On the left side of the screen, click on download installation to PC to save the existing programming.
The Niko Home Control software displays the Project information of the programming.
Click save as.
Save the programming of the installation in the same way that you save other files.
You return to the start screen of the Project information step.
Click on Upgrade at the upper-right corner of the screen.
You go to the Installation upgrade tab.
Click on Step 2: Start the upgrade procedure.
The Niko Home Control software scans the installation.
After the scan, the software indicates whether there are modules that require an upgrade.
Click on Start upgrade.
The Niko Home Control software upgrades the modules, including the controller.
The Niko Home Control software indicates that all of the modules and controllers have been upgraded.
Click OK.
You return to the Upgrade start screen.
Under Step 3, click on Specify your installation if the installation includes other IP devices and/or a backup controller.
Remove the UTP cable from the controller and connect it to the next IP device.
Wait several minutes until the Niko Home Control software finds the connected IP device.
Click start.
The Niko Home Control software scans the connected IP device.
After the scan, the software indicates whether an Upgrade is required for the connected IP device.
Click on Start upgrade.
As soon as the upgrade is finished, the Niko Home Control software displays this message: 'Connected IP device(s) and/or the backup controller have been upgraded.'
Click OK.
You return to the Upgrade start screen.
Repeat Step 3 until all IP devices have been upgraded.
Do not forget to connect the UTP Cable to the next IP device each time.
Reconnect the UTP cable to the controller after you have upgraded the last IP device.
The Niko Home Control software detects whether it is necessary to upgrade the power supply.
Depending on whether or not it is necessary, you can proceed to Step 4.
Under Step 4, click on Specify your installation.
Click on Upgrade.
As soon as the upgrade is finished, the Niko Home Control software displays this message: 'The upgrade of the power supplies is complete.'
Click OK.
You return to the Upgrade start screen.
The upgrade is complete.
Click on Project information to go to the start screen of the software.
You can now continue with the Creation step.
