What can you do with Niko Home Control?

By using Niko Home Control, you can do the following:

  • charge your car as efficiently as possible in one of the following modes: 

    • Solar mode

    • Normal mode

    • Boost mode (*)

    • Plan your next trip mode (*)

  • pause or stop the charging of your car

When charging your car using Niko Home Control, the following features are supported:

  • Load balancing: i.e. the car's charging power is adapted automatically as a fuse overload protection mechanism

  • Control your peak consumption via the Niko Home app. See Niko Home app charging modes

  • Control multiple electric vehicle charging stations/connections in one Niko Home Control installation (*)

General

  • No additional electrical wiring is required.

  • You have connected both systems to the same home network via cable and/or Wi-Fi.



Your Niko Home Control installation meets the following requirements:

  • If you have not registered your Niko Home Control installation, go to mynikohomecontrol.niko.eu.

  • You need global electricity measurement:

    • For installation type wireless smart hub, you need to connect the smart hub to the P1 port of your digital meter with the provided P1 cable. Alternatively, you can use the wireless measuring module with clamps.

    • For installation type connected controller with analogue meter, you need to:

    • For installation type connected controller with digital meter, you need to connect your installation to the P1 port of your digital meter by using the wireless bridge for Niko Home Control and provided P1 cable.

Your Blitz Power EV charging station meets the following requirements:

  • It is a Model Wall (single), a Model Tower (single) or a Module Push (single)

  • It is of the version Lux or Create. The version Lite is not supported by Niko Home Control   

  • It needs to be active and configured with the Blitz Power configuration tools to guarantee correct operation.

  • It is connected to the same local network as your Niko Home Control installation.


How do you activate the link between your Niko Home Control and your Blitz Power EV charging station?

  1. Check if you have everything you need (see above).

  2. Activate the Blitz Power connected service in the Dashboard menu.

  3. Add a device generic car charger Blitz Power to the floor plan.

  4. (optional) Create the desired routines and/or conditions with the device. You cannot add the generic car charger Blitz Power to the routines Solar mode and Peak mode.

  5. Address the generic car charger Blitz Power.

  6. Upload the configuration file to your installation.

How do you deactivate the link between your Niko Home Control and your Blitz Power EV charging station?

  1. Deactivate the Blitz Power connected service in the Dashboard menu.
    If you used your Blitz Power system as a part of your configuration (used the system in routines and/or conditions), follow the additional steps below.

  2. Remove the generic car charger Blitz Power from the floor plan.

  3.  Upload the configuration file to your installation.

After deactivating the link, the following happens:

  • The Blitz Power functions disappear from your Niko Home app and your Digital black.

  • When used in Niko Home Control routines, the Blitz Power functions will not be executed anymore.


Niko Home app charging modes

The Niko Home app offers the following charging modes:

  • Normal mode: charging is done respecting the capacity tariff limit that you set in the Niko Home app in Energy parameters > Electricity.

  • Solar mode: charging is done with your excess solar energy. You can set the share of power from the grid that can be used to reach the minimum charging current for your car in the Niko Home app in Energy parameters > Car charger.
