What can you do with Niko Home Control?

By using Niko Home Home Control, you can charge your car as efficiently as possible in one of the following modes:

Solar mode
Normal mode
Stop/pause mode
Smart mode (as of software version 2.21)
Boost mode (as of software version 2.21)

When charging your car with Niko Home Control, the following features are supported:

Load balancing (i.e. the car's charging power is adapted automatically as a fuse overload protection mechanism)
Control your peak consumption via the Niko Home app. See Energy management of car chargers.
Control max. 4 electric vehicle charging sockets/connections in one Niko Home Control installation (as of software version 2.22). You can use a combination of multiple brands supported by Niko Home Control

What do you need?

General	No additional electrical wiring is required. You have connected both systems to the same home network.
	Your Niko Home Control system meets the following requirements: It has a connected controller II. It is configured with the most recent programming software (version 2.21 or higher).	The central energy consumption in your home is to be measured. If you dispose of a digital meter with a P1 port, you can use your wireless bridge ( 550-00640 ) to monitor the energy usage in your home. Alternatively, you can use an electricity measuring module ( 550-00801 or 550-00803) or the wireless measuring module (552-00803) with clamps. If you opt for the wireless measuring module, a wireless bridge is required.
	Your Niko Home Control system meets the following requirements: It has a wireless smart hub. It is configured with the most recent programming software (version 2.21 or higher).	The central energy consumption in your home is to be measured. If you dispose of a digital meter with a P1 port, you can connect this directly to the wireless hub to monitor the energy usage in your home. Alternatively, you can use t he wireless measuring module (552-00803) with clamps. When you connect the charging station to your Niko Home Control installation via the configuration software, you will need to enter the fixed IP address (as configured in the charging station).
	You have an ABB Terra AC wallbox charging station. It is equipped with a Modbus TCP connection. Typically, Terra AC wallboxes, with the letter M in their type definition, are equipped with the Modbus TCP connection: Terra AC W7-T-RD-M-0 Terra AC W7-S-RD-MC-0 Terra AC W22-S-RD-MC-0 Terra AC W22-G5-RD-MC-0 It is configured with most recent firmware (version 1.8 or higher). You can upgrade the firmware version via the ABB Terra config app.	Your ABB Terra AC wallbox charging station needs to be active and configured with the ABB Terra config app to guarantee correct operation. For configuration changes, you will need the PIN code that you received with the charging station. Note that the following prerequisites must be met before your ABB charging station can be connected to Niko Home Control: Your charging station needs to be connected to the same local network as your Niko Home Control installation. Under the power management option, select the local controller and Modbus TCP/IP. The fixed IP address settings are configured: IP address, Subnet mask and default gateway. The server port is configured to 502. After the configuration changes, reboot the charging station.

How do you (de)connect Niko Home Control and your ABB charging station?

You can (de)activate the link between Niko Home Control and your ABB charging station via the Niko Home Control programming software.
Note that any basic actions and routines linked to your ABB EV charging station are also updated via the programming software.
