Connected double switch, Zigbee®, 2 x 10 A
Stand-alone use
The connected switch, Zigbee® operates autonomously with a toggle function when it is not configured into a Niko Home Control installation, or when it is not connected to a wireless smart hub (552-00001) or wireless bridge (550-00640).
Mechanical push-button extensions (170-x00xx) wired to the extension terminal can also be used in stand-alone mode.
All mechanical push-button extensions wired to the same terminal, will show the same behaviour as the connected switch.
It is not possible to configure the behaviour of the push-button extension switches separately.
The connected switch only switches the L-wire towards its pole contact. The N-wire will not be switched
The firmware of a Zigbee® connected switch working in stand-alone mode, cannot be upgraded Over-The-Air (OTA).
Pair the device to a wireless smart hub (552-00001) or wireless bridge (550-00640) to download the latest firmware version for the Zigbee® deviceIf a push button of the Niko Zigbee® device is pressed 3 times within a period of 6 seconds, it will scan for a Zigbee® master node (pairing mode).
The blue LED will start blinking for maximum 5 minutes, and it will turn OFF when no master node is found. The device can always be used
Connected use
The Zigbee® switch can be used in connected mode when it is paired to a wireless smart hub (552-00001), wireless bridge (550-00640) or to a third-party Zigbee® coordinator / network.
In connected mode, the Zigbee® switch can be used in a Niko Home Control installation.
It can switch on/off one or more lighting circuits wired to its output, or on any other actor within the Niko Home Control installation by:
pressing one of the push buttons
ORselecting the desired icon on the Niko Home app, a Niko Home Control touchscreen or Digital black® ( 24 V or 230 V)
This mode allows you to unlock more advanced functionalities and to remotely control your Zigbee® device via your smartphone/tablet and the Niko Home app.
For more information, see Connected double switch, Zigbee®, 2 x 10 A
It is possible to disconnect the control and its wired push-button extensions from the built-in contact and switch a lighting circuit other than the one wired to the connected Zigbee® switch.
This provides full flexibility to configure the switching contact and the controls via the Niko Home Control programming software or Niko Home app.Mechanical push-button extensions (170-x00xx) wired to the extension terminal can also be used in connected mode. All mechanical push-button extensions wired to the same terminal, will show the same behaviour as the connected switch, Zigbee®.
It is not possible to configure the behaviour of the push-button extension switches separately from the behaviour of the Zigbee® device it is wired to.Extension switches must be configured in connected mode before they can be used
The firmware of a connected Zigbee® switch, operating in connected use in a Niko Home Control installation, can be upgraded Over-The-Air (OTA).
OTA is done automatically in the background. A Zigbee® device asks for new OTA data every 6 hours. The device continues to work normally during an upgrade
