About battery system control
When your home battery is connected to Niko Home Control and dynamic tariff control is enabled, the system automatically optimizes charging and discharging based on electricity prices and available solar energy. The battery charges during the most cost-effective periods, using excess PV production and the lowest electricity tariffs (based on Time-of-Use or dynamic tariffs). It then discharges when electricity prices are higher, helping to reduce overall energy costs.
The optimization algorithm can optionally take battery costs and charging cycle costs into account to further improve economic performance.
You can also choose to prevent the battery from discharging while an EV is charging, ensuring that sufficient power remains available for the vehicle.
