Venetian blind with specific motor control

Situation

In this step-by-step plan, a venetian blind is programmed on the basis of a specific motor control. With this programming, the venetian blind can be completely or partially opened or closed.

After the programming, the operation is as follows:

  • Pressing briefly on the up or down button allows the blind to go up or down until the running time has elapsed.
  • Pressing briefly on the stop button allows the blind to stop, regardless of whether the running time is still active.
  • Holding down the up or down button allows the slats to tilt.

Starting point

The starting point for this step-by-step guide is a project that already encompasses project information and for which a plan is already drawn up or uploaded.

Run through the steps in Adding new project and then Drawing a plan or Upload a background image if there is no existing project.

Step 1: Add a venetian blind

  • Click on Creation at the top of the screen.

  • Click on add an output.
  • Click on venetian blind in the list of options on the right hand side of the screen. The icon appears on the plan.
  • Drag the venetian blind to the correct location and give it a recognisable name.
  • Choose an existing location from the list of options or click on add a location if you have not previously defined one.

  • Click on modify basic settings to program the run time of the venetian blind.
    A pop-up window will appear.

  • Enter the measured or known run times.
  • Change the type to stepping mode.

As an installer, you may not yet have the exact times at your disposal. This is why you can always modify the data afterwards.
If you do not change the type to stepping mode, it will not be possible to tilt the slats of the blind.
  • Click on save to close the pop-up window.
  • Click on save to return to the Creation start screen.
  • Repeat the steps until all venetian blinds controlled by the single push button have been added.
  • Return to the start screen for Creation.

Step 2: Add a single motor control

  • Click on add an input.
  • Click on single motor control in the list of options in the right-hand window. The icon appears on the plan.
  • Drag the single motor control to the correct location and give it a recognisable name.
  • Choose an existing location from the list of options or click on add a location if you have not previously defined one.

  • Click on save to return to the Creation start screen.

Step 3: Create a 'Operate venetian blinds' action

  • Click on add an action. The action will appear as a text balloon on the plan.
  • Drag the action to a logical and appropriate place, e.g. to the relevant input or output.
  • Give the action a name.
  • Choose an existing location from the list of options or click on add a location if you have not previously defined one.

  • Click on continue to go to the Players tab.
  • Click on the venetian blinds and the single push button on the plan to link them to the action.

  • Click on continue to go to the Basic behaviour tab.

The behaviour of a specific motor control is predefined and cannot be adjusted.
  • Click on Which behaviour is this? to view the predefined behaviour of the motor control button.
    A pop-up window appears.

  • Click on close to close the window.
  • Click on continue to go to the Conditions tab.
  • Click on continue to go to the Time automation tab.
  • Click on save to return to the Creation start screen.

Result

You can now continue with step Cabinet lay-out or step Realisation.
