Roll-down shutter with specific motor control

In this step-by-step plan, a roll-down shutter is programmed on the basis of a specific motor control. With this programming, the roll-down shutter can be completely or partially opened or closed.

The starting point for this step-by-step plan is a project for which the Project information has already been entered and for which a drawn or uploaded plan is available.

If you do not yet have a project, follow the steps in adding a new project and thereafter in drawing a plan or upload a background image.

Click Creation at the top of the screen.

Click on add an output.

Click on roll-down shutter in the selection list in the right-hand section of the screen.

The output appears in the plan.

This step-by-step plan also works for Venetian blinds and awnings.

Drag the roll-down shutter to the right place, and assign it a recognizable name.

Select an existing location from the selection list, or click on add a location if the location has not previously been defined.

Click on modify basic settings to set the run time of the roll-down shutter.

A pop-up window appears.

The name of the roll-down shutter in the pop-up window can be confusing, because, at this point, the software has not yet adopted the name that you just entered.

Enter the measured or known run time.

Click save.

The pop-up window closes.

Click save.

You return to the start screen of the Creation step.

Repeat the steps until you have added all of the roll-down shutters that are controlled by the motor control.

You return to the start screen of the Creation step.

Click on add an input.

Click on single motor control in the selection list in the right-hand section of the screen.

The input appears in the plan.

The selected input is specific for the control of motors for roll-down shutters, Venetian blinds and awnings. However, you can also control these outputs with a double push button, as explained in the step-by-step plan entitled Roll-down shutter with double push button.

Drag the motor control to the right place, and assign it a recognizable name.

Select the location of the roll-down shutters from the selection list.

Click save.

You return to the start screen of the Creation step.

Click on add an action.

The action appears in the plan as a text balloon.

Drag the action to a place that you consider logical and convenient, for example, next to the relevant input or output.

Assign the action a name.

The Niko Home Control software automatically enters the most recently defined location.

If you couple the action to a touchscreen, then the name of the action is shown on the touchscreen.

Click continue.

You go to the players tab.

Click on the roll-down shutter(s) and the motor control in the plan to couple them to the action.

If necessary, drag the players to make the connection more easily visible. A connection between action and player can be deleted by clicking on the minus sign.

Click continue.

You go to the basic behaviour tab.

The behaviour of a specific motor control is predefined and cannot be adjusted.

Click on Which behaviour is this? to view the predefined behaviour of the motor control button.

A pop-up window appears.

Click close to close the pop-up window.

Click continue.

You go to the conditions tab.

Click continue.

You go to the time automation tab.

Click save.

You return to the start screen of the Creation step.

Now continue with Cabinet set-up and Realisation.
