Installing the wireless bridge

  • Also, respect a minimum distance of 2 m between a Zigbee® device (including the wireless smart hub) and another RF transmitter (for example a Wi-Fi device) or devices such as motors, pumps, electronic LED transformers, solar panel inverters, home battery storage ... (for example Wi-Fi devices)
  • Avoid installing the wireless bridge on a metal surface
  • Do not cover the product
  • Mount the wireless bridge outside of the (metal) electrical cabinet
  • Do not use with a USB extension cable

Zigbee® network

  • As a rule of thumb, install at least one Zigbee® 230 V powered device on each floor to create a mesh network covering the entire building
  • Also respect a minimum distance of 2 m between a Zigbee device (including the smart hub) and another RF transmitter (for example a Wi-Fi device) or devices such as motors, pumps, electronic LED transformers, solar panel inverters, home battery storage ...
  • For more information on the Niko Home Control Zigbee® network, see Zigbee® network principle

Installation

  1. Mount the wireless bridge to the wall next to the cabinet. Use the drilling template located in the package to mark the drilling holes
  2. Power off the connected controller.

Due to safety reasons, you should not remove/insert the USB cable while the connected controller is powered

  3. Insert the USB cable into the cabinet

    * Coil up the excess cable

** All cable inserts in the electrical cabinet need to be sealed off. The method to close off the cable entries is defined by national installation rules

  4. Plug the wireless bridge into one of the free USB ports of the connected controller (550-00003)

Due to safety reasons, you should not remove/insert the USB cable while the connected controller is powered
  5. Fix the USB cable in the cabinet with the tie wrap (included). This step is needed to avoid accidental unplugging of the wireless bridge from the connected controller

Keep a minimum distance of 10 mm between the 230 V cabling and the wireless bridge’s USB cable

    Connecting the smart/digital meter

For more information on the connection with a smart/digital meter (only for The Netherlands and Belgium) see Connecting the wireless bridge to a smart/digital meter
