Connected motor control, Zigbee®, 3 A, Swiss line

Stand-alone use

The connected motor control, Zigbee®, Swiss line operates autonomously when it is not connected to a wireless smart hub (552-00001).
Note that the two push buttons of the connected motor control can each activate and stop the spin direction of a 230 V motor:

  • A short press on the left push button will make the 230 V motor spin in one direction until its runtime elapsed, or when one of the two push buttons are briefly pressed again

  • A short press on the right push button will make the 230 V motor spin in the other direction until its runtime elapsed, or when one of the two push buttons are briefly pressed again.

  • The motor control has an internal switch-over delay of 0.5 seconds that occurs when the spin direction changes.
This switch-over delay allows the motor capacitor to discharge its energy and protects the motor against current peaks and sudden torque changes

  • The connected motor control only switches the L-wire towards its pole contact. The N-wire will not be switched

  • The firmware of a Zigbee® connected motor control working in stand-alone mode, cannot be upgraded Over-The-Air (OTA).
Pair the device to a wireless smart hub (552-00001) to download the latest firmware version for the Zigbee® device

  • If a push button of the Niko Zigbee® device is pressed 3 times within a period of 6 seconds, it will scan for a Zigbee® master node (pairing mode).
The blue LED will start blinking for maximum 5 minutes, and it will turn OFF when no master node is found. The device can always be used

Connected use

The Zigbee® motor control, Swiss line can be used in connected mode when it is paired to a wireless smart hub (552-00001) or to a third-party Zigbee® coordinator/network.
In connected mode, the Zigbee® motor control can be used in a Niko Home Control installation.
It can control a 230 V motor wired to its own terminals, or any other motor control within the Niko Home Control installation by:

The motor control has an internal switch-over delay of 0.5 seconds that occurs when the spin direction changes.
This switch-over delay allows the motor capacitor to discharge its energy and protects the motor against current peaks and sudden torque changes

This mode allows you to unlock more advanced functionalities and to remotely control your Zigbee® device via your smartphone/tablet and the Niko Home app.
For more information, see Connected motor control, Zigbee®, 3 A, Swiss line.

  • It is possible to disconnect the control from the built-in contact and steer shutters, blinds or sunscreens other than the one wired to the connected motor control Zigbee®.
This provides full flexibility to configure the contact and the controls via the Niko Home Control programming software or Niko Home app

  • The firmware of a connected motor control Zigbee®, operating in connected mode in a Niko Home Control installation, can be upgraded Over-The-Air (OTA).
OTA is done automatically in the background. A Zigbee® device asks for new OTA data every 6 hours. The device continues to work normally during an upgrade
