Connected dimmer, Zigbee®, 3 - 200 W, 2-wire, Swiss line

Stand-alone use

The connected dimmer, Zigbee®, Swiss line operates autonomously when it is not configured into a Niko Home Control installation, or when it is not connected to a wireless smart hub (552-00001).

Mechanical push-button extensions (170-x00xx) wired to the extension terminal can also be used in stand-alone mode.
All mechanical push-button extensions wired to the same terminal, will show the same behaviour as the connected dimmer.
It is not possible to configure the behaviour of the push-button extension switches separately.

  • The feedback LED will blink red when the Zigbee® device is configured into a Niko Home control installation and the RF connection to a smart hub is lost.
The device can still operate in stand-alone use, but the feedback LED only visualises the red blinking state.

  • The firmware of a Zigbee® connected dimmer working in stand-alone mode, cannot be upgraded Over-The-Air (OTA).
Pair the device to a wireless smart hub (552-00001) to download the latest firmware version for the Zigbee® device

  • If a push button of the Niko Zigbee® device is pressed 3 times within a period of 6 seconds, it will scan for a Zigbee® master node (pairing mode).
The blue LED will start blinking for maximum 5 minutes, and it will turn OFF when no master node is found. The device can always be used

Connected use

The Zigbee® dimmer, Swiss line can be used in connected mode when it is paired to a wireless smart hub (552-00001) or to a third-party Zigbee® coordinator/network.
In connected mode, the Zigbee® dimmer can be used in a Niko Home Control installation.
It can switch on/off one or more lighting circuits wired to its output, or on any other actor within the Niko Home Control installation by:

This mode allows you to unlock more advanced functionalities and to remotely control your Zigbee® device via your smartphone/tablet and the Niko Home app.
For more information, see Connected use of the connected dimmer, Zigbee®, Swiss line.

  • It is possible to disconnect the control and its wired push-button extensions from the built-in contact and switch a lighting circuit other than the one wired to the connected Zigbee® dimmer.
This provides full flexibility to configure the switching contact and the controls via the Niko Home Control programming software or Niko Home app.

  • Mechanical push-button extensions (170-x00xx) wired to the extension terminal can also be used in connected mode. All mechanical push-button extensions wired to the same terminal, will show the same behaviour of the connected switch, Zigbee®.
It is not possible to configure the behaviour of the push-button extension switches separately from the behaviour of the Zigbee® device it is wired to.

  • Extension switches must be configured in connected mode before they can be used

  • The firmware of a connected Zigbee® dimmer, operating in connected mode in a Niko Home Control installation, can be upgraded Over-The-Air (OTA).
OTA is done automatically in the background. A Zigbee® device asks for new OTA data every 6 hours. The device continues to work normally during an upgrade
