Convert an installation to include a connected controller

Situation

You are about to upgrade an existing Niko Home Control installation to an installation with a connected controller.

Starting point

You have an existing Niko Home Control installation containing a power supply, controller and IP interface.

Step 1: Make a backup of your programming

Firstly, make a backup of your existing programming file. This can be done via the programming software in the menu of the project information under save as.

Step 2: Create a back-up of your energy data

  • Open the Niko Home Control user software and at the bottom right of the start page, click on Energy.
  • Choose Backup and save the energy data.

Step 3: Position the connected controller

  • Remove the power supply, controller and IP interface from the installation
  • Position the connected controller.

Step 4: Modify the programming

  • Go to step three Cabinet lay-out in the programming software.
  • Open the existing cabinet and click on the right-hand tab Fill with modules.
  • Select the connected controller 6E.

  • A pop-up appears asking to create a back-up of your energy data. We have already done this in step 2.

  • In a following step another pop-up appears stating that several modules were automatically removed.

  • Continue to step 4 Realisation.
  • Choose the tab Address modules and click on the correct cabinet.
  • Press on a button of the connected controller to send the address to the installation.

Step 5: Upgrade your installation

  • Click on Upgrade at the top right of the programming software.
  • Follow the indicated steps in the upgrade procedure.

Step 6: Upload the programming to the controller

  • Go to step 4 Realisation in the Niko Home Control programming software.
  • Select the last tab Upload.
  • Upload the programming to the connected controller.

Step 7: Restore your energy data

  • Launch the Niko Home Control user software.
  • Click on Energy at the bottom right of the start page.
  • Then select Restore.
The stored information is then stored in the connected controller.
