Checking limits during programming

Situation

We show you how to check the limits of the Niko Home Control programming software at any time during programming.

Starting point

The starting point for this step-by-step plan is a project for which the Project information has already been entered, for which a drawn or uploaded plan is available and to which several inputs, outputs and actions have already been added.

Run through the steps in Add a new project and then Draw a plan or Upload a background image and finally Switching the light on and off if there is no existing project.

Checking limits

  • Go to Project information in the menu at the top of the screen.

  • Click under the header Project limits, on view

On the right hand side of the list two numbers are indicated in each section. The number in front of the slash (/) indicates the number of actions or modules that are used in the programming. The number after the slash indicates the maximum number (i.e. the limit). The list contains two types of limits:
Non-exceedable limits: once these limits are reached, it is no longer possible to add the respective modules and controls
Exceedable limits: for proper functioning of the installation it is recommended to respect these limits. These limits can be exceeded but doing so may cause errors when the programming is uploaded. If one of more of these limits are exceeded, this is indicated during programming

.

Exceeding limits

When an existing project is opened in which one or more exceedable limits have been exceeded, an exclamation mark appears in the bar Project information for Project limits. This indicates that one or more limits have been exceeded, which may affect the functioning of the installation.

In the list of the Project limits the exceeded limits are displayed in red and with an exclamation mark. You can also find a quick link to the action in which the limit is exceeded.
