Switch off the mains.

  1. Install all connected and/or wireless Niko devices.

Also respect a minimum distance of 2 m between a Zigbee® device (including the smart hub) and another RF transmitter (for example a Wi-Fi device) or devices such as motors, pumps, electronic LED transformers, solar panel inverters, home battery storage ...

  2. Connect the wireless smart hub via Wi-Fi (option A) or with a UTP cable (option B) to your home network.

    Wi-FiUTP cable (preferred)

2.1 If you choose option A, connect your mobile device to the following network to enable a one-to-one connection between the smart hub and your mobile device (smartphone, tablet or pc):

    • network name: "Niko" followed by the last 4 characters of the smart hub's MAC address (XX:XX).
    • password: serial number of the smart hub (SN: XXXXXXXXXX).
Result: On mobile devices, the smart hub's web portal opens automatically.

  3. To set the smart hub's network connection to your Wi-Fi home network, proceed as follows:

    1. Open a web browser and go to the address: Nikoxxxx.local (xxxx = the last 4 characters of the smart hub’s MAC address (XX:XX)).

On a mobile device, the smart hub's web portal is already open.

    2. Enter the password. The password is the smart hub’s serial number (SN:XXXXXXXXXX).
Result: An overview of all available wireless networks is shown.

    3. Select your preferred network for the smart hub. (if applicable) Enter the password for this network.
Result: The smart hub connects to your own wireless network. The smart hub stops broadcasting its own Wi-Fi network.

To make changes to the Wi-Fi configuration of the smart hub, restart the smart hub by cutting the power supply for a couple of minutes. The smart hub will then transmit its own Wi-Fi network again for 5 minutes.

  4. Register your smart hub at mynikohomecontrol.niko.eu using the MAC address and serial number.
You can find these at the back of the smart hub.
Then log in by entering a username (your e-mail address) and password.
Once the registration is successfully completed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail asking you to verify your e-mail address.
Check your spam folder if you don’t find it in your inbox.

  5. Download the Niko Home app on your smartphone or tablet.
Log in with the same username and password as your Niko account (mynikohomecontrol.niko.eu).
Note: when you’ve logged in to the app on your smart device, you may be asked to install an upgrade.
This upgrade may take several minutes.
During this time frame, no devices can be connected to the smart hub.
