Installing the push-button interface

The push-button interface can be inserted in a single flush-mounting box (not a Niko product) and connected to the Niko Home control bus wiring.
A Niko mechanical single or double push button, including the splashproof variants (Hydro range), can be mounted on top of the flush-mounting box.
The LED units of the push-button interface with feedback LED are suited for Niko mechanical single or double push buttons with lens, including the splashproof variants with lens (Hydro range).

Wiring diagrams

• Only connect the push-button interface to a SELV (safety extra-low voltage) contact and NOT to the 230 V mains voltage.
• The cable length between the push-button interface and the push button or transistor output should not exceed 2 m.
• The push-button interface can be used in an outdoor environment provided that the unit is fitted with splashproof housing (e.g. Hydro).

• Make that there is no contact between loose wires and other wires. This may disturb the Niko Home Control bus communication or power provisioning to other devices on the bus.

Do not remove the LEDs from this interface, nor replace by other LED elements nor use the LED outputs for other purposes.

Installation

To connect the push-button interface:

1. Connect the bus wire to the bus connector (A).
2. Loop the bus wire to other controls in the Niko Home Control installation if required.
3. Connect the circuit wires (B) to one end of the potential-free push button or the NPN transistor output.
4. Connect the blue common wire (C) to the other end of the potential-free push button or the NPN transistor output.
5. For the push-button interface with LEDs, insert the LED(s) (D) in the provided opening(s) of the potential-free push button.
