Installation

Switch off the mains.

  • Apply a stripping length of 6 mm.
  • Use rigid wiring. Maximum 2 x 1.5mm² or 1 x 2.5mm² per screw terminal.

  • Mount the Digital black, 230 V at 110 to 160 cm above floor level. When you use the Digital black, 230 V as a "central control screen" a mounting height of 150 - 160 cm above floor level is recommended.
  • Mount the Digital black in a vertical wall respecting to the TOP-marking.
  • Screw mounting requires vertically aligned screws.
  • Before mounting the display part make sure that you remove the dust protection tape from the base.

Switch on the mains.

  • On the base, there is a small push button to switch the relay ON-OFF when no display is attached. In this way, you can test the switching function during the construction process or apply some construction site lighting without having the risk of damaging the display.
  • The button has a toggle function (push => ON; push again => OFF).

Switch off the mains.

Note: If the Digital black does not click easily onto the mounting bracket, please try the following:

  1. The safety screw at the bottom of the display might be blocking the clicking mechanism. Please verify that the safety screw has been screwed tightly in the UNLOCK position (see step e, but turn the screw in the opposite direction to unlock).
  2. The Digital black might not have been lowered correctly onto the two protruding supports at the top of the mounting bracket (see step d). Please try lowering the Digital black correctly onto the protruding supports. The Digital black should click easily into the mounting bracket. Don’t try to force it or you might damage the connection pins at the back of the Digital black's display.

To avoid theft you can screw in a safety screw on the bottom of the display part. Use an Allen (hex) key of metric 2 mm. To avoid damage do not over tighten the safety screw.
